Surface texture and lines are my focus in this little oil and cold wax painting.  I have built up layers and texture and then tracked lines appearing through the textures, as well as incising lines into the layers.  The inspiration comes from rocks in a beautiful beach in Costa Rica, although there will be countless other locations where similar rock surfaces and lines can be found.  I love the way the character of these lines change as the tide washes over them through the centuries.  Oil and cold wax on cradled panel set in a painted tray frame, overall size 18 x 18cm
