Inspired by walking on Dartmoor near Scorhill Stone Circle, a very beautiful stone circle and setting near a couple of clapper bridges, on this beautiful part of the country.
The painting continues my exploration of minutiae of surface detail on immense land mass, containing such ancient history.  Here glimpses of pink granite are pushing through the rough dark rock, surrounded by both solid land and boggy marsh, where the sun shone, the clouds gathered, the mist rolled in, and (fortunately!) out again.
